Chelsea and Arsenal have pulled out of the race to sign Victor Osimhen.
Italian transfer market expert, Ciro Troise, revealed this to CalcioNapoli24.
PSG and Chelsea have long targeted the Nigerian but the Blues could not progress further over the player’s massive release clause.
This gave Arsenal the opportunity to enter the race to sign the former Lille of France striker.
The Blues’ deal for Osimhen would have seen Romelu Lukaku join Napoli on a permanent deal.
However, Ciro Troise now reports that Chelsea have backed out after they saw Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion as a replacement.
Mikel Arteta’s side wanted to hijack the deal but have also followed their London counterparts in pulling out of the race.
Troise said via CalcioNapoli24, “Osimhen? Nothing has changed. He reappears every now and then, but the situation is always the same: PSG doesn’t go beyond €70m and hasn’t sold Kolo Muani yet. While Chelsea and Arsenal have withdrawn.”
Reports in Italy say that Napoli’s new manager, Antonio Conte, prefers Romelu Lukaku in his attack for the coming season.
