‘I saw a photo of my son’ — Tinubu warns against undue access to FEC meeting

 

President Bola Tinubu has warned unauthorised persons against attending the weekly federal executive council (FEC) meeting.

The president said some persons who were not authorised - including his son Seyi Tinubu - had access to the council chamber of the State House.

Speaking before the commencement of the FEC meeting on Monday at the presidential villa, the president said he noticed that some people were sneaking in and out of the council chamber.

"Last week I noticed the undue access of people sneaking in and out of this council, including... I saw the photograph of my son, Seyi, sitting behind... That is not acceptable," Tinubu said.



"I will announce to you those people who are supposed to be here.

"Hadiza Usman, special adviser on policy coordination, Bayo Onanuga, special adviser on information and strategy, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, principal private secretary and Damilotun Aderemi, private secretary.

"These are the people who are granted the exception to be here when we are conducting the business of the nation. Unless I send for you, don't come."

The president asked George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), and Folashade Yemi-Esan, head of service of the federation, to ensure that the directive is complied with.

The weekly FEC meeting which is presided over by the president is attended by cabinet members and his top aides.

The high-level meeting, previously held every Wednesday, now takes place on Mondays.

Bayelsa guber poll: Judiciary has vindicated itself – Sylva

 



Following the Appeal court verdict reinstating him as the
governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State,
Timipre Sylva has said that the judiciary has vindicated itself.



 



Recall that the High Court in Abuja had on October 9
declared that Sylva was not eligible to participate in the gubernatorial
contest having already spent five years in office as governor of the state.



 



The Court of Appeal reversed the high court verdict on
Tuesday, reinstating Sylva as APC candidate for the November 11 guber poll.



 



Sylva reacted to the development on Tuesday in Abuja after
meeting with the Deputy National Chairman, North, Bukar Dalori and the National
Secretary of the party, Senator Ajibola Bashir.



 





The immediate past Minister of Petroleum insisted that it
was very clear that the APC is going to win the November 11 governorhip
election.



 



Sylva said that was the reason the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) decided to go to court to stop him to make sure he’s not on the ballot.



 



Sylva stated: “Today, when the court now said that the guy
who did not participate at all in the process had no locus, and I was a little
bit confused, but the judiciary has vindicated itself.”



 



He said although the person that took him to court claim to
be a member of APC, the suit was orchestrated by the PDP.

Church, has opened up about his relationship with his father.



 



Isaac said he has no problems with his dad, contrary to
recent speculations.



 



He explained that he remained a steadfast member of the
Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel International.



 



Posting on X, Isaac wrote: “I must state that there is no
complication in my relationship with my beloved family and my beloved dad
(Bishop David Oyedepo), who has stood by me and supported me over the years,
nor are there any in my commitment to my church-turned-home, Living Faith
Church, also known as Winners Chapel International.



 





“I remain a steadfast member of the Living Faith Church,
dedicated to the service of the body of Christ.



 



“I urge the general public to treat information not
communicated by me or any of my social media platforms with extreme caution.
There should be no further publications on any severance of my relationships
with the Living Faith Church without my express authorisation, as it may be
considered a breach of my privacy. Thank you so much for your understanding.”



 



This is coming amid reports of him breaking away from Living
Faith to start his own ministry.

Supreme Court’s judgement is the lord’s doing – Oluremi Tinubu

 




President Bola Tinubu’s wife, Oluremi, has described the judgement
of the Supreme Court as the Lord’s doing.



 



Mrs Tinubu made the remark while applauding the apex court’s
judgement that upheld her husband’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.



 



She spoke at the Imo State All Progressives Congress Women
Campaign Rally for Governor Hope Uzodimma’s re-election quest in Owerri.



 



The First Lady said the court granted her husband a ‘clean
bill.’



 





According to Mrs Tinubu: “You can see, the court has already
given my husband a clean bill, and we believe that this is the Lord’s doing,
and it is marvellous in our eyes.



 



“Let me tell you, like my husband promised, that the East
will be the industrial hub of Nigeria, and by the grace of God, the development
of the South-East starts from Imo.



 



“When we came for the campaign, I promised you, I said we
will do whatever it takes to make sure Nigeria is one.”



 



Last week, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeals of the
candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), Atiku
Abubakar and Peter Obi, challenging Tinubu’s victory.



 



The apex court ruled that the appeals lacked merit.
