Rwanda head coach Torsten Spittler has said the Moroccan referee was right to cancel Ademola Lookman’s goal for the Super Eagles in Tuesday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Kigali.
The two countries battled to a 0-0 draw in the matchday two contest at the Amahoro Stadium.
Lookman’s 22nd minute header was chalked off by the centre referee.
Spittler claimed there was an infringement leading to the goal.
“There was a foul leading to the goal, the player (Semi Ajayi) heading to the second post pushed our player,” Spittler explained.
“The referee was in a good position to make the call.”
