Gov Badaru consoles families of two slain police officers in Jigawa
Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has expressed his condolence to the families of police operatives who were killed by kidnappers at Kwalam town in the Taura Local Government Area of the state.
Reacting to the killings of the officers at Yangayami and Gugunju towns, the Governor said, “I am very distressed at the manner of death of these officers who were undertaking their legitimate duty of protecting lives and properties of our citizens.”
The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini, prayed for their gentle souls to rest in perfect peace.
“I condole with the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, the Jigawa State, Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Saleh Tafida and indeed the leadership of our security forces in the state.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Jigawa State, we condemn the killing of our innocent police officers who were out there to keep peace in our state.
“It is unfortunate that this incident took place. I want the Nigerian Police, the families of the deceased and indeed all Nigerians to know that the attack on security personnel is an attack on all.
“This attack was unwarranted, it was not needed because all these patriotic Officers were there to protect lives and properties and that was why they were killed, the Governor said.
“Accordingly, we condemn this and we want to assure everyone that Jigawa State will join hands with the security forces to ensure that all those who perpetrated this sad act are brought to boo,” he said.
