Chelsea vs Real Madrid: Toni Kroos makes honest confession about Champions League fixture

Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos, has made an honest confession about his side’s Champions League quarter-final fixture against Chelsea. Kroos said that no team in the Champions League, including Real Madrid, wanted to play Chelsea in the last eight. The Germany international admitted that it would be a difficult match when Real Madrid clashes with Chelsea in April. The former Bayern Munich star believes Thomas Tuchel’s side are the toughest team to face in the competition. “They [Chelsea] are the current Champions League champions, so it couldn’t be more difficult. There could hardly be a bigger hurdle, but we have to concentrate on ourselves, and if we play well, it is possible to do a lot of things. “We have to try to be very good because that is what we will have to do to reach the semi-finals. Probably nobody wanted PSG in the last 16, and probably nobody wanted Chelsea in the quarter-finals, but that is the way things are, and we have to accept them,” Kroos said while speaking on his brother’s podcast via Europa Press. Recall that Chelsea were drawn against Real Madrid when the Champions League’s last eight draws were conducted a few days ago in Nyon, Switzerland. The reigning Champions League holders had eliminated Lille in the last 16, while Real Madrid knocked Paris Saint-Germain out of the tournament.
